When the Walcott Home was formally opened to the public, I witnessed Sir Derek’s tears. It was momentous. Now it’s time for you to experience this wonderful tour.

In celebration of the Nobel Laureate Festival, the Saint Lucia National Trust under the auspices of the Nobel Laureate Committee presents the Walcott House Virtual Tour.

Sir Derek, his brother Roderick and Pamela Walcott were born in a modest Chaussée Road home to Alix and Warwick Walcott. The House is a charming replica of historic architecture during the 1900s.

The tour will be presented as a two-part video series. The first shall include the impact of the house and its architecture on the Walcott brothers’ family life in the town of Castries and the second part will focus on Sir Derek’s work and his life in the birth museum.

The second part of the tour will explore watercolor paintings which span decades of Sir Derek’s career, highlighting his watercolor paintings and technique. Stay tuned to social media sites for more information!
