At the MOJA Finale at Hampton Park, Charleston, I had a whale of a time. This is how communities should get together and have fun. There were craft vendors with so much choice and quality, delicious food and the live music and audience participation was extraordinary. No shy people here!

Toby Foyeh and Orchestra Africa, took us on a musical journey from Africa through 3 continents, where traditional Yoruba music, Highlife and Afrobeat meet Pop and Jazz with scincilating guitars. The female singers and dancers added a spice of traditional Africa in their call and response style songs with improvised African dances on rhythms of the world.

And I remembered the good ole’ London club days dancing to Charleston Super Deluxe’s polished, high-energy music show, featuring a wide array of music genres with a healthy helping of modern hip hop, soul classics, and vintage 70′s funk.

The food was awesome! My husband ate alligator! Accompanied with rice and peas.

So glad my friends invited us to come to this event. If I’m in the US at the time, I’ll definitely be back next year!
