Anyone who knows me knows I love cars; fast ones, vintage ones, the classics, so when I came across this beauty at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, I had to stop, stare, read and have a huge smile for the rest of my travel.
I learned from this plate that the first vehicle to bear the Porsche name was registered on June 8, 1948 – the 356 “No.1” Roadster. Ferry Porsche’s dream had come true.
At the 70th Anniversary Auction at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, A 1958, 356 A 1600 ‘Super’ Speedster was sold for US$307,500.00 and a 1985, 959 Paris-Dakar went for $5,945.000.00.
Wish I could have attended the auction, that would have been absolutely awesome!
