Living with Terminal Cancer
My guest this week is Carol Coombes O.B.E. Carol is managing a terminal cancer. Due to her personal beliefs and being allergic to pain relief, Carol is not receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This means that she does not have regular clinical support from doctors and nurses. Instead, she focuses on researching alternative treatments and remedies that promote wellness and help people gain a better understand of their bodies.
Carol emphasises how important it is to maintain a positive attitude but admits this is a challenge. She believes terminal illness is a taboo subject which makes it even more difficult to talk about.
Carol tells me what she is doing to change this, and provide a supportive space for people living with terminal illness to share their experiences.
We’ve remained in touch and I constantly witness her courage, strength, honesty when frustrated, and I admire her so much!
