If you’re planning to come to Washington, DC, then March & April has the incentive of seeing these beautiful Cherry Blossoms. The blooming of the Cherry Blossom trees and the National Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual outdoor treat.
The Festival runs from March 20 – April 11, 2021, and full of both virtual and in-person events that honor American and Japanese cultures and represents a close bond forged between the two countries that began with Tokyo Mayor Yukio Ozaki’s gift of the trees back in 1912.
If you want to admire the 3,000-plus trees, the Festival invites residents, visitors and fans from across the globe to “step into spring” with a diverse variety of experiences that include both virtual and personal elements while prioritizing the health and safety of everyone involved.
The predicted peak bloom is April 2-5.
You can see the cherry blossoms via the live BloomCam. (See link below). The Festival also offers many virtual and in-person events, activities and other ways to celebrate the season.
