As a Hennepin County judge reinstates the third-degree murder charge against Derek Chauvin in George Floyd’s death, I wanted to share my recent pictures at the Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington DC.
On June 5, 2020, during the George Floyd protests, the DC Public Works Department painted the words, “Black Lives Matter” in 35-foot-tall yellow capital letters on 16th Street NW. The picture below was taken from the rooftop of our hotel – a stark daily reminder that black lives count!
