I’ve been touring…meeting some decdicated musicians who have become friends during our time with the Colour of Music, a festival that features Black classical musicians. The Festival started in Charleston, South Carolina, but recently performed in Houston, Pittsburgh and Richmond.
For the first time I witnessed an organ recital by Eldred Marshall at the Organ Recital Hall at the University of Houston, Texas. He performed Prelude and Fugue in D major, BMV 532, Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). It was out of this world!
There was a young student next to me who cried! She said she had never witnessed something so musically wonderful. She was unprepared for the body movements used to execute such perfection.
